Recently purchased 2002 m4900 tractor ran great first few hours just using it around the farm to haul a trailer to and from with no load on the tractor at all.
Had the opportunity to get some bushogging done ran great the first 20-30 min then started to get in some higher brass and ramped up the rpm and that is when the issues started tractor would lose power i would stop and after a 30 sec or so it would act like it would catch back up and run fine. After a few times of this it just died and wouldnt crank back up i got out and started looking and the fuel pump knob on top of the fuel filter was completely down like it was sucked into a vacuum.
i cracked the nut on the fuel/water separator and the knob popped back up i pumped it several times and it did increasingly get harder to pump as indicated in the manual so i figured the air in the line was out. Then today it died and i got to looking and the knob was once again pulled in and the fuel in the fuel/water separator was about 1/2" from the top. Had to slightly crack the nut again on the separator to get everything back up and running again. Runs fine under no load but under load this trend is continuing to happen does anyone have any insight as to why and the way to correct this
it may run for 10 minutes or 30 but the issue is still there
thanks in advance
