Well I've been a reader of TBN for a long time but I just now got my first problem to post about and I need some serious help...Thanks in advance for any help.
I have an M4030SU that came with a property I purchased. I have only used to tractor for maybe 1 hour total in about a month's time. The other day I decided I was going to level a spot in the yard...I worked for about 30 minutes one afternoon and then about another 10 minutes the next day. The day after that I was ready to do some major leveling and after maybe one pass with my box blade, the 3 pt hitch would not lift. I immediately check the hydro fluid and found it was low enough that it wasn't touching the dipstick. The next day I filled it up to proper level.
Where do I begin to troubleshoot this problem? I have topped the fluid off and that is about all I have done so far. I will also add that I admittedly don't know much about my tractor (I have ordered a manual but it hasn't arrived yet). Is there something that I could have bumped or something electronic that could keep the 3pt hitch from operating? (I think it is all mechanical) Also, there is a lever directly under the seat that I don't know what it does (manual would probably tell me if I had one).
I was afraid I might have burned up the pump but the power steering is working fine so does that tell me if the hydraulic pump is good or not
