I realize this is a compact board, but the question lingers within....and I thought I'd turn it over to more knowledgable folks.

My BIL asked me to assist him in listing his large kubota tractor for sale.....2008 m125x with full cab loader 4wd and 2700 hours. He's asking 36k. Isn't that proportionally lower than it should be, or are compacts just that much more versatile/valuable?

That price might be high. The sale price would depend a great deal on, condition of tires, heat and ac condition, transmission type, prior use, etc. One huge deciding factor will be, how is the clutch(s) and hydraulics. Taking the cab off that unit and splitting it would be big bucks.

$36k seems to be about right for a private party sale. Auctions I've been at - small to mid ag tractors have been selling at ridiculously low prices. Part of it has to be low farm prices. This tractor would fit on a dairy or beef operation and prices of both are really bad. A hit against it is the GX brought a lot of cab improvements. Lucky ones would be the new owners - the engine in this tractor is at 125 and the same basic engine is used in the M7 at 171. The powershift transmission has been excellent. I had a M135GX that I traded for my M7 last year. This spring I had to use a partner's T4.100 for some lighter jobs while the M7 was on heavier work. Even though my partner paid over $60k for the T4.100, the M125X would be head and shoulders above it.
