It should be 550 so yes it will turn the correct RPM for a bush hog.

I've never run a rotary cutter with my "M", but if I did, I'd make sure to put an overrun clutch on it too.

My 420 (upgrade model of the M series) handled a 5' rotary mower for many years. And after an engine overhaul, it handled it much much better.
Correct on the rpm PTO of 550 speed. And ditto on the overrun clutch too. Made a world of difference.
