LX3310 Exhaust Smell, Eyes and Sinus Burn

Anyone with a new LX3310 have an issue with exhaust smell? I’ve been around diesels my entire life (65 years old) and never had an issue with exhaust smell. The exhaust from my tractor burns my eyes and sinuses. It is not engine temperature dependent, it occurs immediately upon start up and continues the entire time running. While the tractor only has a few hours on it, I go out and run it for 10 minutes, come in and my sinuses are burning. It’s not like a normal diesel smell, it’s very acrid and is immediately bothersome. I thought perhaps it takes time for the DPF to burn in, or burn a coating off or something, but again this starts when immediately starting a cold engine and remains the entire running time. The selling dealer filled the tank. ?? Thanks

I don't know what Kubota is doing with their newest diesels but many road vehicles have a fluid that is injected separately from the diesel to reduce pollution. Your tractor may use that fluid. You can ask your dealer.

No, it does not use DEF, it runs a DPF.. the exhaust literally burns my eyes and sinuses. Not at all like my BX which had a regular diesel tractor exhaust smell.,,,,,

I just bought a new L3301 - had considered the LX3310, ultimately decided I wanted the larger frame size. The exhaust certainly smells different than my old 2003 New Holland. I haven't noticed it burning my nose yet - I just turned over 17 hours, but certainly a different smell than I'm used to. I had over 2500 hours on the New Holland.

How many hours?

Could it simply be paint, oil and manufacturing chemicals burning off of the exhaust system?

None of my Kubotas produce any noticeable exhaust odor and two have emissions systems similar to that on your 3310.

7 hours, I just went out and started it, completely cold, and I can immediately smell it, it's like eye watering and sinus burning. The exhaust pipe and DPF are completely cold so it's not like it's burning a coating off the exhaust. As weird as this sounds, I've always kinda liked the smell of diesel exhaust, this is completely different. .

Only 7 hours? Have you run it hard yet? With DPF you need to get that thing up to full temp and that means work'in it.

Anti freeze in the cylinder(s)?

Yes, it happens.
