LX178 Lift Assist Very Stiff

Is there an adjustment for the lift assst. Mine is so hard I have to nearly get off the tractor and use both hands to move the lever forward or back. I wouldn't think it should be this hard to operate.

Have you checked to see if the spring is intact?
