LX178 Fuel Pump

Thanks for adding me to the forum. I have a 1998 JD Lx178 that keeps killing the fuel pump. Once I install the fuel it makes a squealing sound for 30 seconds. I have put four fuel pumps on and the machine works perfect for a day and then wont start the next day.I was wondering if I could put an electric fuel pump on the LX178, and if yes how would I do that?

Four fuel pumps? Where are you getting these pumps?

Are you sure that the push rod is installed correctly to operate the fuel pump plunger lever?

Yes can install electric low pressure pump. Just have to by pass current mechanical pump. I would also remove the plunger for machanical so not running dry.

Thank you, that is exactly the problem. I did not put the insulator back on. Appreciate everyone's posts.
