LX 255 charging issue

Fine folks of the forum:

Data JD LX 255 Kohler 15 hp motor.

Dead in water the other day while mowing. New fuel pump and electric clutch last year.
Today replaced the fuel lines and filter. Ran for 5 mins while test cutting and died again.
Will start, but dies when you: 1) take off brake (must be applied to start) or 2) engage PTO.

So I am thinking battery and buy a new one, no change. Battery light is on at the dash. Seat "sit on and start" thing is jumped out. I tilted up the bodywork this morning to get to fuel lines and to my knowledge did not disturb anything.

I don't mind dumping another $100 bucks into this thing if it will work. I am not a very good mechanic, however can do some stuff.

I'm thinking a safety switch malfunction... maybe a wire came loose?

Good suggestion. I cleaned the spade terminals of the corrosion, used dielectric grease, and it started/ran/mowed. Battery light still on.
