Lubricant for Linkages

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right spot but does deal with Lubricants.

Can anyone advise what is the best lubricant to use on pivot points, or other linkages to ease up on operation and to keep operating smoothly. I know WD40 is a bit of a no no so looking for something else. Please keep in mind that I am in Canada so am looking for something that does not clog up too much in the cold or attact to much dirt\dust and make it worse.
I did a couple of quick searchs but didn't find much ( maybe search parameters were wrong ) except for something call Break Free which I have never even heard of.

Any thought would be appreciated.

Everyone has their favorites, so if you get 10 replies, you get 10 different answers. Probably all of them correct, just find something that works for you.
I found this stuff called Muscle Grease. It sprays on as a fluid, seeps into everything, then solidifies like a grease. Works for me, Good luck, Andy.

I use dry lubes on my tractors pivot points. You can get teflon or moly dry lubes in spray cans at most auto parts stores. Gun Shops usually carry dry lubes for guns which you can use on your tractor also.

They work great because they don't attract dust and they are unaffected by the cold. I have a fifteen year old Wheel Horse tractor that I have used this stuff on exclusively and have never had any problems. You do need to apply it more often (mainly if the lubed joint gets wet) but it's so easy to do with a spray can.

JD's recommendation for 3ph points is Super Lube (silicon spray).

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the suggestions.

We Canadians live somewhat of an insular existance in that we do not have the range of products that you have. Never heard of Muscle Grease or Break Free but both sound interesting.
As well, a big hassle to get guns here so hadn't thought about guns lubricants or even motorcyle chain lubes.

Have an 03 Cub with 210 hrs on it so all the linkages getting stiff from cold, etc. It is still cold here.

Based on your suggestions, heading out to see what I can find.
