LT1042 PTO won't disengage.

I disconnected the wires to the PTO and the deck keeps spinning when started. Guess this means its time for a new PTO with a unit with 36 hours. Where's the best place to purchase parts?

For me the place online with best service has been Carter Gruenewald Co. I looked up your clutch there based on you saying it's 3 year old machine and it's about $230. It's $248 direct from Cub Cadet on their website. Here's a link to Carter Gruenewald.

I posted general instructions on changing a PTO clutch a while back in this thread. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/cub-cadet/126644-2185-power-take-off-clutch.html The only thing I forgot to say in that post is that you might need a impact wrench to get the bolt out.

Got the new one in the mail yesterday ($149.00 + free shipping from the net). Installed it last night and when taking off the old unit it look like a bomb went off. Lower bearing froze tight, upper spins like new. Working like new again.
