LS 3039
I have a LS3039 shuttle shift tractor. I have had it about ten months. Have been real happy with it until now. I pulled it into the yard to wash some bird mess off of it. When I went to start it, all I get is a buzzing from under the cowl. I have done some reading and it sounds like maybe a glow plug timer has gone bad. I have good voltage from the batteries. All the fuses are good, but it wont' turn over. When you turn the key, it does nothing. If I unplug the timer, will I be able to turn the engine over or does it have to be in the loop? Any input appreciated.

After pulling my hair out a while. Decided to go back to basics. Took the battery cables loose. They looked good but cleaned them anyway and connected back to battery. Just for good measure I put a wrench on where the ground cable connects to the frame. Guess what, it was just a bit loose. Tightened it up. The tractor fired right up like it should. No buzzing from the relay.

The electrical issues I've seen related to bad grounds are too numerous to recall.

Getting into the basics is always the right tactic. Good job.

Almost every time I get a no start from any of my equipment it due to a loose connection.
Even yesterday my Z clicked when I turned the key. I checked the date issued from TSC, I know I know, 5 YRS AGO.
Anyway, I charged it overnight and the next day I drove away. No worries.
Today, same click. Grrrrr
Checked voltage and Fluke said: 13.25vdc
Huh?
Took leads off wire brushed them down to even the washers and it fired like a showroom queen.
That 2003 model just purred.

Check your connections, Guys!

Start with the simple check both battery connections, then move onto checking all the fuses to see if you have a Fuse that blew maybe cause of water getting into a connection some where on the tractor during the wash.
