LS XR3037HC Play in the steering wheel?

Newb here with a quick question. Just bought a new LS XR3037hc and when I test drove it I noticed some play in the steering wheel. The dealer told me this was normal in LS tractors and it was nothing to worry about. I only noticed after I had shut the tractor off. Was wondering if any LS XR3037 owners noticed this also? Thx..

I have the same tractor. Only about 16 hrs. on it but no problem with play in the steering wheel that I have noticed. Will check on Sat. while using it but think I'd remember if it had any play.

Well, you got me curious so I went out to the garage and checked the steering play. With the engine off the wheel moves about 4". Is that the play you have? On mine that goes away when the tractor is started and the hydraulic steering pump is running. When running, the slightest movement of the wheel will move the wheels.

Thanks a bunch! Yes the play is about the same as you described. I'm taking delivery on Monday and wanted to be sure this was common. I will double check it when the tractor is running just to be sure.. Super excited to get my first cab tractor!

George is right, that is normal, nothing to worry about!

Sounds the same as mine.

Normal. It has hydrostatic power steering.
They all do that when the engine is off.

Got the tractor today and it was as everyone described. As soon as you start the tractor the play goes away..
