LS XR4145 (45hp HST)
I just visited a couple dealers....did NOT like the Kioti dealer and he is farther away.....If that i my dealer, I don't want one....
The LS dealer was great....I am really leaning toward the LS (XR4145)....then I saw he also has the TYMs. I had to really get moving as I had work to do so I couldn't check them out to in depth.....
What do you all think of the TYM tractors.......and if you were to choose between the 2?

This tractor buying thing is pretty involved.....LOTS of choices to make

I'll use it on a 50 acre farm for horses....mowing 20 acres and keeping woods cleaned up, trails, food plot, etc.

THANKS

There are four brands of Korean tractors imported to USA; Kioti, LS, Branson, TYM.

USA economy is in good shape.

Kioti and LS are thriving, off a small base. Branson and TYM are hanging on to a minuscule base.

When USA economy next tanks, what is going to happen in the tractor market?

If war comes to Korea, what then?

There are specific LS, TYM and CENTURY/BRANSON forums here. Locate same and read some threads.

I don't know much about TYM tractors. I believe they've been marketed under several different names like Montana and something else I can't recall.

Kioti and LS seem to be the bigger players in the Korean market with Branson close behind.

If I was going Korean I'd choose Kioti or LS.

I fall in this camp as well. Obviously I did choose a Korean tractor, and It has served me well. There are proponents of all four of the mentioned brands. Just look them over and read about them, an look over the dealers. Around here Branson and TYM dealers are tiny, and usually sell used cars too or rent pressure washers...

My TYM dealer is moving quite a few tractors and doing good with them... TYM's are also sold as Mahinda's too...

I think choosing the RIGHT SIZE tractor is more important than which brand you choose, between those two.

Most folks buy too small of a tractor in the first place and in the end, it cost them a lot more money!

Some of the new Korean LS tractors have Japanese Yanmar engines in them, just like John Deere.

My Mahindra 2540 is a TYM with a Mahindra engine.

As far as brand network, I'm fairly certain that LS is larger and produces a lot more tractors than TYM. I'm an LS owner myself and LOVE the brand. Bought my first one 3 years ago and just sold it and upgraded to a larger size LS. I can't say enough good things about LS.

But the important thing to consider is your LOCAL dealer network. If you don't have a local LS dealer network in your area, then it may not be the best brand for you. Go with the brand that has a good dealer support in your area. If that's LS, then even better!

We had a local dealer that sold Farmtrac. When they dissolved (and became an orphan tractor), he was looking for a different brand to carry. He originally looked into TYM because he thought the tractors were good, but passed because he said their parts availability was bad. He ended up carrying Mahindra and seems happy with that decision. TYM recently bought out Branson (who bailed Century and Montana [who bailed on Farmtrac] tractor brands). Soooo, will there still be both TYM and Branson tractors in 5-10 years?
