LS MT240HE
I know the manual has the chart to show the torque settings based on size and metallurgy of all bolts. But has anyone documented the values for specific bolts? ie. Specific torque values for loader mounting bolts, wheel nuts and bolts, exhaust manifold, etc? If not, maybe just diameters of those bolts needing torquing? I am a car guy from back in the 70's and in every repair manual had the torque values were listed for each specific bolt location ('Torque the head bolts to xxx ft/lbs'), not a chart for all bolt size.

I had to check the exhaust manifold and the wheels at least.
To add to the confusion of figuring this out, the owner manual's chart shows values for Grade 8 hardware. All the hardware I encountered are marked 8.8. All I found was, "Class 8.8" is used for metric hardware, and "Grade 8" is used for SAE hardware. So why put a Grade chart in a manual that is for a device that is all metric? Thanks LS... And to continue my education, I found one site that said to measure the shoulder (un-threaded portion) of the bolt. Most others all show to measure the OD of the threaded portion which seems to be the correct measurement.

Finally,I ask, does anyone have a source for a repair manual for this tractor? I have looked but found nothing. If I knew that going in I would have at least shopped around for some other brands. But here we are...

I went out this AM and here is what I found. I figured the torque value in about the middle of the range they use in the manual's chart.
[NOTE: this is my best estimate and what I used. Use at your own risk!]

WHEEL BOLTS and NUTS (front and rear)
M14 - 8.8 = 104 ft./lb.

EXHAUST MANIFOLD
M8 - 8.8 = 24 ft./lb.

Thanks - looking for this info on my neighbors MT235!

Page 4-24 of the tractor Manual states,

Rim-disk nuts (M16) 163-199 lbf.ft

Wheel nuts (M16) 159-181 lbf.ft

Thank you for bringing that to may attention. Being an old car guy (working on cars since 'about '66), I do not understand the nomenclature they used. My wheels have two nuts on studs to make it easier to mount a wheel, and the rest are bolts. What do they mean by "rim-disk"? And those wheel torque figures in the manual are certainly higher than for the same size 8.8 hardware used elsewhere.

Wouldn't a nice index be wonderful in the manual?

LOL! Yeah, a lot of it has to do with the translation that was done.

Rim-disk is the nuts and bolts that hold the outer edge of the center wheel section to the actual rim the tire is mounted on.

I actually took a sharpie and wrote 165 on the "disc" next to the valve stem on the rear wheels so I can quickly check them with a torque wrench without getting the manual out.

Thank You, Bearsixty7 for the photo! I thought the manual was talking about a two-piece rim but there was no illustration to go with it. My 240 has welded rims, and thus the confusion! The chart of torque values in the manual must have directly converted Newton Meters to lb./ft. because they give the rating for the M14 8.8 grade bolts as 97.6-108 lb/ft. Very literal people. They could have easily rounded up as in my 50+ years of working on vehicles I have never see a torque wrench that was adjustable in tenths of a pound.

I have written a few owners manual in the industry in which I am involved and I have found so many odd translations and phrasings in the manual. The home of the company I did a lot of my work for is in Tawain and I was the only native English speaker. Nothing like job security... until you get fired! ;-)

I am making a printable list and when I have all the figures (eventually) will use a paint pen to mark all the important values on the tractor.
My MT240HE was manufactured in late 2019 iirc. My dealer is the West Coast distributor so his turnover is quite high.
