What's the proper reading of the dipstick? I notice that sometimes the dipstick reads empty, like when the backhoe is extended, and sometimes full. Any advice? Also, is there an hydraulics bleed screw?

Thanks!

I always checked the fluid level with the BH off or at least disconnected. The level really shouldn't change when the BH is in the transport position (fully tucked in). Extending the dipper out will compress a cylinder and "add" more fluid into the system. Same with extending the bucket.

Thanks for the info. I'm probably just overthinking it and want to make sure I don't run the transmission without oil.
