I recommend flare nut crowfoot wrenches, they get a better grip:

Good to know. Those would have to be special ordered or from specialty store in Dallas maybe, the local Autozone or O'Reilly's just had the basic, regular ones, NAPA might have had them, they are a little further away but I didn't look.
I'm quite happy to have the basic ones, been a few times I thought they would have been handy. This time there was no other way.

I had the dealer install my 60" grapple with the 3rd function kit I paid just under $1500.00 It has been great moving logs and cut up down tree trash and ripping up roots.

@Mrsig I'd like to see details of your light bar, hoping to add one to my tractor.

I went with the 60" Homestead Grapple

I picked the Yitamotor 32" LED light bars, IP68 rated (Devices backed by an international standard rating of IP68 are deemed fit enough to withstand dust, dirt and sand, and are resistant to submersion up to a maximum depth of 1.5m underwater for up to thirty minutes ) with switch & harness. It has a 3 year Warranty. The only thing I had to do is extend the harness a few feet to mount on the ropes.
The price was great too. 32INCH 180W Led Light Bar Spot Flood Combo Boat Ford Offroad Truck UTE ATV 34'' | eBay
It makes the night look like day time using the backhoe in the rear or bucket or grapple in the front. Hope this helps.

Thanks, how did the mount work out around the ROPS?

I also went with the titan 2 lid for my 3038H. It really is too heavy. I can pick up a lot but have to carry it low. Instead of the looped rod provided by titan to keep the hoses up out of the way, I use a screen door spring with a caribeaner hooked to each end, yea I know.

This is a mid state attachments grapple out of Denton, NC. It's not too bad in weight. 525# for a 68" unit. Built very well.

Made my own third function using one of my remotes for the circuits. It works extremely well. Built the brackets for the hoses to make it look as factory as possible.

All looks hood but have you hooked up to this yet? You may find it's too close to center and needs to be offset back some so that the connecting hoses can have a better arc.

Been using it like this for 6 months. Works great with no problems of hoses getting in the way.

Can we get pics of the 3rd function valves and the lever please....I am thinking of have my dealer add a 3rd function kit. Also what is the weight of the grapple ?

Well I was just over at EA www and thought I was looking for a 3rd Function valve to run a hydraulic 3rd member (top link) on the 3 pt. I have a MT225s and running a 5' rotary mower on it and I thought I wanted more clearance for the tail wheel when moving from place to place, without having to screw and unscrew the link every time since compact tractors sit pretty close to the ground with short lift arms.

Well $ 900 for a little convenience, even without any tax or shipping considerations is a bit steep...... little convenience......course if its a "gotta have" like with a grapple and I understand the convenience those afford one, then:

You guys/gals buying grapples, comments on the EA www say you need to order a valve when you order your grapple if doing it yourself. I was over at the W.R. Long www who apparently design, build, and supply the valve kits to EA and their parts are/seem to be first class and well engineered for your particular tractor.

I ordered the WR Long with my grapple from EA. They shipped out the kit immediately, which was nice, I didnt have to wait and got it installed. However, without a grapple, I cannot really test it. There are a few things I like and a few things I really dont like about this kit, for my tractor. Your tractor may be different.
One thing that I dont like, that others seem to like, is their handle. I dont like it. It's a clamshell design that is hard plastic and not very egomaniacal. As far as I know, its a one size fits all.
Another thing that I dont particular love about this kit, is where the valve is located, the right side step. They have you remove that step and use the mounting holes to mount the valve there. It sucks. I took my step off long ago, in favor of a tool box. I had to remove the tool box for this valve. Now, I dont have a tool box anymore. I'm currently exploring ways to move or mount the tool box around the valve.
Little nitpicky things like that.

Hopefully soon I'll get notified that my grapple has shipped. Then I can test it.

I did do a video of the WR Long install on my tractor. But I'm still editing it.

Hmmm, that's different than on Mine, it mounted to the loader disconnect plate like the video shows.
I do agree, the hard plastic handle isn't as nice to the touch as the original LS loader handle but it does work. Warning, it can get very hot when sitting in the sun as I found out this week!

Summit hydraulics makes a universal 3rd function. Some YouTube videos on their products as well.

I'll jump on the W.R.Long Handle dislike bandwagon too.
They could have done a much better job with the materials of it.

I know that this will cause some negative commentary regarding quality of steel, etc. but I’m going to go ahead and put it out there- I bought a package pallet fork/ dual lid grapple from Titan. Iirc it was around $1800 w/ free shipping to Spokane.

Have found the Titan more than satisfactory in terms of strength and quality of construction (welds, pins, hydraulics, lube points) for my needs. Have moved around some pretty stout logs and such. Yes, it is heavier than many of similar size ( likely because of the use of a lower strength steel) but that hasn’t been a limiting factor to date.View attachment 690671
I live in Deer Park and considering the Titan grapple for a JD3033 but am going back and forth because of stuff I see on line. Price is WAAY better than others. Still happy with yours?
