Time to by pass the dealer. I suggest at least a loaner untill they get you a working tractor new or yours fixed.

Finally got a fix. Picked the 5020 up today and the PTO finally works as it should. A factory rep drove to tyler, tx from N.C. and found the tractor had a bad transmission pressure relay. The relay was stuck closed which made the system believe it was low of fluid when it was actually ok. Too many safety features.

I have a LS 7010 and I have used this tractor with a Howes 10ft brush hog 3 different times and each time the brush hog shaft keeps getting pushed farther onto the Tractor PTO shaft way past the locking pin. I used to have a New Holland Tractor and this never happened once. its a ***** to try to get the Shafts uncoupled. so far I have had to buy 3 ends that go onto the PTO hogs drive line. any ideas whats causing this. is the hogs shaft to long maybe? good for the New Holland, but to short for the LS.

I would say for sure your shaft is too long and you stand a very good chance of damaging your tractor's PTO f it is putting that much pressure on it to shove the coupler past the lock ring and break the lock ring itself. That is very good indication of something wrong and I am surprised that you continue to replace the coupling ends rather than investigate and fix the problem.
Try compressing the PTO shaft on the bushhog to see how far back you can push it. You should be able to push it back at least a foot from the tractor PTO shaft when everything is hooked up. If you can do this then your shaft isnt too long and you have somthing else causing the problem.

I pushed the shaft back as far as it would go with the brush hog elevated and while the hog was on the floor. this was done the first time this happend. I thought maybe when I raised the Mower it was pushing the shaft onto the PTO Spline, but it was not. but there is plenty of clearance.
