Low/Neutral/Mid indicator light switch adjustment??

Was down at the land using the tractor and got back on it, went to start it and it wouldn't turn over. Checked to make sure I was in neutral and the lever was in neutral but the indicator light still showed low gear. Wiggled the lever a bit and slightly pushed it forward and the light went from Low to Neutral, tractor started up just fine. Also does this in Mid range, sometimes the light indicates Neutral when I am in Mid range. Tractor runs in whatever gear the lever is in just the indicator light sometimes isn't jiving with the lever position. I took the seat off and checked out the switch, it doesn't seem to have any adjustment to it, like slotted screw mounts.

Anyone else have this issue and what did you do to fix it??

You should be able to adjust the linkage.

DK40SE HST, the linkage for the transmission seems to be working fine, but from that is a small bar going to the switch, that didn't seem to have any adjustment on the linkage or the switch mounting. Maybe I totally missed it.

I had the same trouble last July but it corrected itself. The problem has not reoccurred in about 105 hours of operation since then. Although I was into my dealer's in October I forgot to ask him about it.

Thanks, your description in that thread is exactly what is starting to happen to me but not as drastic. Like I said when in the low N position (between L and M) if I just slightly push the range lever forward the dash light changes from L to N and I can start it. Wondering if I am getting a dead spot in that N position on the range sensor

Hey kspring, I just bought a 2012 DK40SE HST with a similar issue. When the lever is in L or M the light on the dash usually shows N. Haven't been too concerned because everything else seems fine. Hopefully it isn't causing issues.

Attached are some Service Manual pages showing how to set the Range Sensor. K0UA mentioned this in the thread referenced in my previous reply in this thread. I did not try to reset my range sensor as it seemed to fix itself and I thought it prudent not to mess with it.

Hey Rowdy, maybe it's a TN thing, the tractor is down at my property in the Paris/Dresden area.

It doesn't cause any issue other than when starting you just need to make sure the Neutral light is on or it won't start.

ive had the same issue at times, usually i just slightly shift the lever ever so slightly up or down until the N light comes on. i read the resetting instructions in my manual and they just seem to hard.......or i should say too easy to screw up. i rather leave it alone. in 7 years it has never been much of an issue
