low Hydro fluid on 2650

My new B2650 arrived...and I should have checked the fluids right away but didn't. As it turns out the dealer didn't top off the hydraulic fluid after installing the backhoe and so the fluid was out of operating range, just barely touching the bottom of the dipstick. I put about an hour of mowing in before realizing it - should I be concerned?

I would guess no, not from being just a little low. But more knowledgeable people will be along to answer with more surety

On second thought...is the hydraulics and HST all coming from one reservoir on the B2650? I'm used to my BX where its a single pump. Guess I need to look at my manual when I get home and double check that.

I wouldn't be concerned but mention it to dealer so he'll know if there is an issue later.

All dealers must do this, when I had my Kubota delivered it was low on engine oil, trans oil, and the anti-freeze.

If they can deliver them a little low they save money.

On the other hand my John Deere all fluids were spot on.

Make sure you check the front axle as well if 4x4 mine was low from dealer.

I've bought several Kubota 4x4 BXs that were low in the front axle after driving them for a week or so after the fluid totally fills the nooks and crannies as have several other BX owners here. I sometimes pick up a free qt bottle of hyd fluid after the fluid settles to top off the front axle. Have never had any other fluids (engine oil, antifreeze) low in the 20 I've bought. I believe they are filled at factory but all dealers should check and top off all low fluids and tell customer to check their front fluids after using them for a few hours. I believe owners manual tells to check them but who bothers to read the books that come with them?:confused3:

I was aware of the front axle deal from owning a BX and expected that to be low, but go figure it was fine. Dealer gave me a gallon of Super UDT and the HST took maybe a quart.

I used to have faith in this dealer but given the fact that they never installed the third function valve I ordered, and delivered my RFM with blades that had never been sharpened (on top of a few other incidents surrounding the purchase), I'm wary that the tractor wasn't given the attention it should have gotten before leaving their shop.

JohnThomas 20 BXs? That's quite a fleet. If I had the room and the money I would have kept mine when I got the 2650 just as a mower, they are an awesome yard machine.

Not 20 BXs, Only bought 7 BXs.

The others were an L, several Bs (5), a few Fs and a couple Zs and one RTV and an older Kubota that I bought and sold. Owned one of the Fs twice. Only own 5 or 6 Kubotas now, the BX1500 is my SILs if he keeps mowing for me.
