The only question I have is: WHY. It sure serves no practical purpose.

Any ideas as to the tractor make/model that was made into a low rider?

Steve

Isn't it a Dextron or Dexron or Dextra or something like that? Maybe in the Fordson group??

Have no clue why it's a low rider.

It would be great for parades, on pavement. Nice conversation piece.

I have seen Allis B models done like this. Quite the head turner when you see one!

Chicks, man! It's always about attractin' the CHICKS!!!

/Apparently squealing-tyres/burning-rubber also impresses the CHICKS!!!

//Oops! I've just been informed that the Babes don't like being referred to as CHICKS. Who knew?!? :confused3:

That would make a great,,, (and safe, ) aircraft moving tractor.

Many tractors were redesigned, and used specifically for factory heavy component moving.

We had at least three at the last "factory" that I worked at,,,
moving 80,000 pounds or more an a smooth concrete surface requires a machine that is geared to go slow.

Starting with a AG tractor results in a low cost solution.

One factory I worked in used a cat (D6, maybe?) with rubber pads and no blade for that.

There's the answer. I have seen a number of low riders moving heavy equipment like airplanes around. Pulling baggage carts as well but mostly industrial or military aircraft. They were very popular around the early 1950's.
