Got to cut for the first time this year using the new 2210. It felt alot different than the X585. I am using the same 54" deck but the difference is mostly the height you sit at. It is like the difference between driving a sedan and a SUV.
I did encounter one problem(don't laugh now). I got the ROPS hung up on a branch enough to pick up the front of the machine a couple of inches /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif The tree faired worst than the tractor. Had to look around and make sure nobody saw /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Come on now. I had to laugh... I've been there. On my first few mowings, I carried loppers with me. If it was too low for the ROPS, it was cut.

Did it cut as nice as the 585? I haven't got the opportunity to mow with my 62MMM yet.

DJLX,

All the trees around my yard either bear scars or have been appropriately trimmed. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Unfortunately I can't cut these limbs as it is a ortamental type tree and won't look too good if I do. I can always add mulch though.

Yes and no. The cut didn't look any different than before-same deck. The 2210 doesn't have quite the same turning radius as the 585 but the 2210 doesn't have the Mow in reverse safety switch so it is real easy going back and forth. No knob to pull. I don't know how many times I would hit reverse pedal on the 585 without pulling the knob only to have to start the pto again. The grass was a little wet from all the rain Friday and Saturday and the 2210 with R4s managed my slopes without 4wd. Don't know whether it can be attributed to the R4s, weight or combination of both.

I wouldn't know about the fresh cut grass smell, the snow just melted and the grass is still brown. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Some of us have to wait another month. But I am getting a truck load of crushed rock to play with this week, so THERE! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Seriously though, I had my 2210 almost a whole year now. It did a great job of mowing, the grounds looked... as well as a weedy country lawn can look. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

DJLX,

Trust me, there is NO ornamental tree that cannot be trimmed in an aesthetically pleasing manner to accommodate your ROPS. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif This I know for these very same reasons.
