I wasn't aware they had a parking brake light?? does it have the rotary switch for PTO engagement. If so make sure you check the pressure of the pto clutch engagement circuit mine was low and I believe it has toasted the clutch plates.

if it is HST the shopmanual has been revised and the pressure setting is higher for the HST. Sorry I don't have exact numbers but you can search the forum.

Congrats on the tractor but your new rig has R4(industrial) tires;changing to turfs will involve a rim change and all four need to be changed(due to tire circumference and the 4 WD system).I assume it's 4WD.
Yup, picked up a set of used wheels and tires today (kinda lucked out finding a decent set that was affordable), had them lined up to buy before I even bought the tractor 20201222_183104.jpeg

Nice find;your going to love your new ride.My BIL has turfs on his L3300 and they work pretty well in everything but deep mud.

I have the lever, good to know, I was planning on doing a PM/ lookover, I'll add that pressure check to the list. Luckily the pto on this tractor saw very little use. Apparently only ran a rotory cutter twice, other then that it was used to maintain roads in a trailer park and make the occasional hay ride at a church.

Yeah I was looking at set of the smaller turfs then these popped up, was able to get them for about 1/3 of a new set. Otherwise it wasn't gonna happen, those rear tires/wheels are PRICEY new!
Really glad I was able to find the wider set.

Finally got a chance to use the new tractor this morning, I only have a 60in box blade from my B series so I put that on and figured I'd grade the hill in front of my house. With the B it was a struggle to pull the gravel up the hill without losing traction and having to feather the box to drop weight, the L just kept chugging along with a full box of damp millings.
I know its only a 60in wide and I need to get a 72 to cover my tracks but I was still presently surprised how well it did!

I do miss the top and tilt, already looking into adding rear remotes, not sure I want to spend the $2100 for a factory set, will probably end up making up my own for it.
I think I'll switch the Pat's from the B to the L and put the old HF quick hitch back on the B.

Got a quick pic of the B and L side by side while I was at it.20201223_105757.jpeg

My L3560 is the successor model to the L3240. R4 outside to outside width is 62".

My R4 tires never mark turf. Florida soil is porous sandy loam.

The /40 series of Grand L tractors are the ultimate Grand L models without Tier IV pollution controls installed.
Jeff, did you mean 72"? Mine are set to the narrowest position and they are just a hair under 72in outside-outside.

My R4/industrial tires are 62" outside to outside measure.

The order in which the hubs are assembled to the rims may account for your 72" measure.

According to my L3560 Operator's Manual tread width with 420/70-24 R4s can be 52.2"/53.5"/57.7".

I have no direct experience with the /40 Grand Ls, but my L3560 is the successor model in the /60 Grand L series.

That's weird, mine measure just under 72, they can't be adjusted any narrower. What size R4 do you have on yours? I thought the only offered one size for the R4.

Typically OEM quoted width values are for the centerline of the tires. Not the outside track everybody actually uses & cares about. That roughly matches the numbers you have when you add half the width of a tire * 2 I expect.
