I felt the deal was too good to pass up with all the features included. It was used for about 75 hours of haying this past year and the other 35 hours it was used around the dealers shop. Came with full NH warranty.

That is a good looking tractor. Should be a lot of fun.

That's really nice. Do you have the Quick Attach front bucket so you can take it off and put on hay forks or a grapple?

yes the attachment is the SSQA system. Very easy - on and off.

Did you look at this one? Might be too far away. I bought my trencher from these guys and their prices are pretty good from what I've been able to see.

Not sure I would want the one that the uneducated, operator tried his luck in running......like buying a demo car....who knows who did what to it deliberately or otherwise.

On the comment about never have enough hp, usually that's the case. In purchasing my 2400 just the opposite was the requirement. I wanted a no frills, simple guy to get in and around places the big ones wouldn't...course I don't consider 4wd, diesel power, hydro steering, and FEL frills in today's market.

We used to hunt a lot down on the Katy Prairie (duck, goose, and dove) but the fire ants had wiped out the quail. I guess the crazy ants have displaced them and while the quail are safe, your electrical boxes are not. That is a great area.

My wife and I recently bought an 85 acre place near College Station for our future retirement. The land is pretty beat up from 100 years of cows so we are going to disk and drag the real rough spots and start a regenerative cover crop rotation to help with moisture retention and get some nitrogen and organic material back into the soil and then start planting pecan trees for an eventual orchard operation. Went through the same (but a little smaller) thing looking for a tractor. As a warning, be careful on the used side, I ran across a couple of flood tractors that were not listed as such. Would not want one of them on a dare. A couple of the real (not a guy selling used tractors out of his yard) dealers also warned about them. Said that you can make them run for a while, but said that there is no way you can warranty them and they did not want a bunch of pissed off customers just to make a buck or two. We ended up going with a Kioti 73 HP cab model, really liked their 110 HP model but did not want the pleasure (sarcasm mode) of having another thing using DEF juice after dealing with my truck that uses it. Have you looked at the Zetor tractors? I heard some good things about them but dealer support is not strong near me and I would have to buy a new truck/trailer to haul it because they are quite a bit heavier than what I can deal with.

Welcome aboard guys, I drive through Dime Box weekdays on the way to work.

Frogracer, welcome too! Looks like you found yourself a nice machine. Hope it works out great for your endeavor. Speaking of quail, I would be interested in hearing how your project turns out over the years. I thought the fireants were too big of a nemesis. Will you practice some sort of ant control? I always wanted to pour some molten aluminum down their mound like you can see on Youtube. :) Would you by chance start a thread on the rural living forum? If so, post a link here. This could be a project that if documented well, could instill enthusiasm by others to follow. I hope the best for you.

My buddy has a small covey of quail on his place between Victoria and Port Lavaca. Maybe a dozen birds or so. They seem to have held their own for over 20 years now. He never shoots any. They seem to hang out around a wild rose bush on one corner of his place. His hay fields are gardo bluestem and jiggs.

Check out Wildlife Habitat Federation - WHF Link - they are the driving force behind what I am doing on the property. The land I own along with another attached 100+ acres was the initial seed property for WHF when my Mr. Willis, Mr. Moore, and my father started the non-profit organization. The land when they purchased it was pure hay fields and grazed by cattle. Over the past several years the native grass is now on the comeback after lots of plowing, discing, planting etc.

I will start a topic over on the rural living forum and post a few photos etc.

As for ant control we have not done anything special at this time. Last year during the quail count we had many birds on my property and more than that on the neighbors. Nothing like sitting out in the evening listing to the Bob White Quail whistling.
