Hi everyone,
Less than a month ago, I stumbled upon this site while trying to find information about some tractors. I have owned 4 tractors so far, 3 of them diesel CUTs. My current tractor is a Ford 2120 45 HP 4WD which is an awesome plowing machine with the loader-mounted Curtis plow. I really liked the tractors I have had but they are too harsh on the wet clay that passes for soil here on my lawn and trails. Therefore, they have been relegated to being used only for snow plowing, lifting with a 3 pt boom or loader forks, and bucket work on the driveway and surrounding work areas. I was looking into getting a small turf friendly tractor when I heard about Power Tracs and found this site. I am going to get one of these tractors and now I am trying to figure out which one and which attachments to get. So far, I have read 78 pages out of the 91 pages of posts (I am working backwards). As with any tractor purchase, there is always the trade offs of capability, weight/size, and price.
Before I go any further, I would like to thank all of you for your informative posts!!! The expertise and friendliness of the members of this forum is an extremely strong selling point for Power Trac as I mentioned to Terry and Kristine when I called the factory.
I will have more questions later but the following information would be quite useful to me in narrowing down the possibilities:
How much can one lift at the end of the 60" boom on the 30 and 45 HP models as well as at the 48" point on these and the 425? That information would help me determine the smallest tractor I can get for my lifting needs.
Thanks and I hope everyone has a pleasant new year,
Ken
