Looking for replacement the carb on my Stihl FS 130R brush trimmer

My trimmer won't run unless you leave the choke partially on and it does not run all that great that way. Replaced the filters and plug with same outcome.

I have what I assume is the model number for the carb but i'm not getting any hits. Here are a couple pics..

Purchased in October 2009

It appears to be 898B 816A

I think you misread the number its S 98B. Plenty of repair kits available.

Initially I thought it was an S also but when you zoom in it appears to be an 8. That is why I put 2 pics up.

In any event I'm not getting great hits on either number.

I really don't want to visit my dealer. Nice folks but a royal pain to get parts from. They actually charge me shipping so I figured why even give them the business.

It's crazy that you can buy them that cheap anymore... And most seem to work. Heck...it ain't much more than buying a spark-plug at the dealer...!

Look into getting a complete carb off ebay - I've read lots of peeps saying it's the cheapest route -
for example - Zama OEM C1Q-S98C Carburetor For Stihl FS13 FS31 HT13 KM13 | eBay

Perhaps my carb is a S98 but it is a B instead of a C. It is only $20 but I'd hate to throw away the money on the wrong carb.

I'm gutted, I might just pay more from my dealer with the expectation they can get me the correct part. ---> :laughing:

The one I linked is only $14. That will get you a gasket at a Stihl dealer.

For sure check out eBay and Amazon. I bought a complete carb with a tune-up kit including spark plug, in tank fuel filter, new fuel lines, and gaskets for under $12 on eBay for my Husky 51 saw. Changed out the carb and it started right up. Very minor adjustments made to the jets and now runs good as new. For under $12 it isn't even worth messing with the old carb.
