Hey guys , back in 2007 , john_bud had a mixture for a diesel treatment additive , it consisted of mineral spirits ,2 cycle oil , naptha and xylene but he did not list how much of this to add per gallon or ten gallons of fuel . If anyone knows about this or can steer me too john_bud i would appreciate it . I would like to try this . thanks

john_bud has not posted since 3/11/2009. You could try sending him a PM. But I agree with RavensRoost. Why wouldn't you simply use a commercial product? What's the advantage of mixing your own?

Lot at stake here if you price a new diesel ! I go with 2oz Power Service / 5 gal fuel. No problems in NH winters.

Almost sounds like some kind of bio-diesel formula?

I second the use only commercial additives also-and follow the instructions as manufacturers of this product generally know of what they speak.

A diesel fuel additive contains a biocide, which is a chemical that kills the algae growing in your tank-all fuels contain water, water in diesel creates an entire eco system in the fuel system. Use too much and entire neighborhoods-if you will- are dispatched at the same time, clogging things up.

Use just enough and the 'bodies' just go through the system and are cremated-after being smashed together that is.

Diesel fuel, its a beautiful thing-biodegradable, did you know that?

:D
