X585 is the same set up but you can engage or disengage the 4 wd, so if you are turning sharp with the 4wd engaged in the grass, then the inside front wheel, when you turn, will mess the dirt, rock or grass up. On any x7xx series the front axle is hydraulic drive and is always engaged, but they have a valve hooked to the steering that changes the front wheel speeds when turning so it doesn't tear grass up. The x585, x7xx and x738 are all electronic fuel injected kawasakis and great smooth running mowers. The x595, x748, and x758 are all 3 cylinder yanmar diesels, still great running motors but the do have a little more vibration and noise at different throttle settings. I own an x585 and wish it was the x595 diesel I bought mine 7 hours ago and have been using a loader on it easy but working the tractor and have already put 13 gallon of gas in it. My old 455 was about 1.5 hours on a gallon of fuel. I'm sure the new diesels aren't quit as efficient but I have been working this new x585, it has 408 hours on it. Just my thoughts. I plow a lot of drives in the winter with mine and this will be the first winter, I am afraid I will have to fuel up before I am done. It's a small town with a gas station across town. So I don't know it I will need to carry fuel or if I will have plenty. I just ordered my 54 inch all plow from deere with the quick hitch and angle option and the setup was 1150 plus 100 for the lockout valve. That's with me installing it. I was pretty happy. That doesn't Include tax either, which is 6.25%.
