Hi guys, I posted this in the New Holland/Ford page and it was suggested I put on this page as well

I've just picked up a Ford Industrial for a bit of general farmwork and I'm giving it a bit of a clean up before its put to work but I'm having trouble identifying the model. The block behind the starter has the following info:

DD112k I've got no idea what this is.

6D14B Believed to be 1966, April 14 dayshift.

<c502441* Believed to be 3000 series, industrial, gas, independent @540rpm then the last two I don't know.

What I do know about the tractor is it is a 3 cyl diesel with 3 forward/2 reverse gears and high and low range. Swept back front axle, inboard rear brakes. Can anyone shed any light on it please?

I am at a gig and no manuals with me, rickb, ultradog, and a few others might be closer to a manual

Thanks Soundguy, hopefully some light can be shed on it.
From what I've found most things indicate a 4500, but........the "C" at the start of the serial number indicates a 3000 series.

i'd have to see what that decodes to. I'm unsure if a 3xxx tranny will work on the gear reduction rear end. i know it will bolt to the engine. the 3 cyl pattern is the same.

much will depend on pto and hyds options. For instance. you see 4000SU that have a light duty front end, but have the gear reduction rear. again. the industrials throw a few curves int here too. I am still not back to the house to grab manuals. I gig thru midnight.. then i'll start treking home, but again have a gig i need to be at in another city at 9am to setup for. :)

Thats a 4000 rear end on it, you can tell by the size of the trumpets. That makes your machine a 4400 or 4500. There's a nice bonus in there too, you have the saddle for the backhoe attachment.

Edit: You have the tie down arms for the BH too. It looks like your only missing (2)nuts and (2) angled spacers for it. You have everything you'll need for a BH. I've had a few people offer some good money for mine.

I doubt a backhoe attachment will be going on unless I can pick one up real cheap, but it is an option.

Soundguy, did you get a chance to run the serial numbers?

i got home last night late and am already on the road again. If I can get to my house in the daylight without having to run around like a chicken on fire, I'll grab my 3 cyl manuals. :)

According to tractor data, c502441 puts it somewhere between 1975-76. The 4400 & 4500 tractors were all built off the the 4000 series agricultural machines with a different front axle and steering. The difference between the 4400 & 4500 was the loader, 4500 having the bigger of the two.
