Looking for an alternator for Massey Ferguson 1020

I am looking for an alternator for my Massey Ferguson 1020. Where can I find one or are there any alternatives that will work?

If you have difficulty finding the actual component, and if the system is 12 volt positive ground, use a Delcotron alternator with built in rectifier/regulator. We used those on all of our old cars, regardless of brand. Cheap, no messing with any external regulator, hook it up and go.

tom by application it shows the 1010 1020 and 1030 as being built in japan for ford and has a 12v hitachi alternator already on it by some chance can you post picture of or post the brand name and part number for whats on there now. if it is the japan built tractor it should have the regulated alternator already on it and is negative ground but the delco as mentioned by cincy is adaptable by making some new brackets

sorry i said built for ford i meant massey it has same motor as ford it was built toyosha of japan

You can get parts for your alternator online. Just rebuild it and bolt it back on. Save money, and learn something about your tractor in the process. Post up some pics of your alternator and any part numbers. B.

that unit is new and have been dealing with them for over 20 years very good family run business and they are very sincere about the warranty

1Tom, did you ever get the alternator fixed, I was having starting problems with my 92 1020 thought dead battery then alternator, finally replaced regulator with one for a JD 650 and it worked? Was wondering if you went with internal regulator alternator because there is not much room where the alternator is mounted.
