Looking for ammunition

Just checked on line it seems .257 bullets are in short supply right now.Any from 110-120gr.will work fine.

I'd try a Nosler Ballistic tip- I believe that is the closest bullet to the Winchester one you prefer.

Not sure if this info is accurate or the same cartridge's that your looking for, but just happen to be is a local gun shop this past week, and a fellow came in looking for Winchester silvertip cartridges. Said he and his son could not find them anywhere...the gun shop owner said that Winchester didn't make any of those particular silver tips this year...but that they would again next year. Just passing it on for what its worth.

Is this available in a factory load? Or is it only available for reloading?

I reload Nosler ballistic tips in .223. They are very accurate.

As near as I can tell Midway USA (address posted in the previous post) has loaded ammo in the 115 grain silvertip and the bullet alone as a backorder item with a due date of 12-11-2014. These are the combined technology bullets made by Nosler/Winchester.

I am still looking for something decent in my ruger No.1 25-06. Haven't shot it yet, but was able to get 2 different boxes at wal mart to see how they place. not too long ago..

I would recommend Nosler,Hornady and Federal loaded ammo for the 25/06.I have two 25/06's and is my go to round for sure.I have reloaded and hunted with 115-120gr.Nosler Partitions and they have performed from 10 yards to 300 yards.I also load the ballistic tip but use them for sight-in,I am sure they would work ok on deer sized game.
Seems to be a shortage of .257 bullets at the moment,don't know why.Midway has Speer ,HornadySST and a couple others.

I will not be reloading, so I need a factory load. I don't see where Nosler Ballistic tips are available in a factory load. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places?

Federal Ammo;factory loads with the Partition and Ballistic tip from 100-120 gr.Great ammo by the way,if I were to purchase factory ammo it would be Federal.
