Hello All,

Before I graduated to the true SCUT world I ran a 25hp (Kohler engine)Craftsman Garden tractor for my needs around the property. I bought it new in 2004 with a 42"snow blade, 48" mower deck, 12" moldboard plow, and 42" sprigtooth cultivator. What does the group think a complete package like this might be worth? Do you think that I can find a buyer for everything or should I split it up from the start when advertising?

Just looking for opinions!

Thanks,

Frank

Can't say.

Do you have the actual model name as that would help.

I hate to say it, but in general, the Craftsman tractors are not very well reguarded so resale tends to be low. I would think maybe $1500 or so if you are lucky. You might do better parting out the accessories on eBay and selling the tractor/mower or tractor/mower/plow by itself.

Probably would get more in the Spring for everything except the snow blade. You might want to try to sell the snow blade now.

What are you looking to get out of your equipment and what shape is it in?

If you can split some of it up, there would be more potential buyers, but you don't want to split up the tractor and the mower deck because a garden tractor without the deck isn't likely to sell.

My '95 Craftsman 25 HP garden tractor with hydrostatic drive and 50" mower is still doing yeoman duty. It's the nice dark green one; I was pretty impressed, until it didn't start the first time I tried to use it, but that's a whole different story. :(

Like amigauser said, $1500 would probably be a good price for the stash. Not that it isn't worth more, but Sears has an ad every week offering some unit or the other for really low prices, so, your buyer will think that's all it's worth.

Definitely keep the mower, at least, on there, and, even the plow might be a selling point, the way winter's going. Come spring, the moldboard plow and cultivator will probably go quick.

We'll if it works like new, than I wouldn't sell all that for 1,500 dollars thats for sure,I'd give it away first.,whats it worth to you?you probably got 4-5,000 in it or more,4 years old ain't much,[I got a 11-12 year old 25 hp sears and it still cuts fine!]

Sell it in ad pad /newspaper,sell it as unit, don't even waste your money till about april,I'd ask 2,500 at least[if theres nothing wrong with it that is]

If I were selling it, I'd start it as a package. Give it a little while like that, and then maybe offer it all separately if you don't sell it as a package. My bet is that even if you offer it all together, you'll still get inquiries on selling the implements separately.

Sight unseen, it's tough to give an appraisal. In my neck of the woods, maybe $1500. If you spend the time to detail it up, clean the tires and Armour All them, wash and wax the entire tractor, to maximize your price, you might push it closer to $2000, assuming everything is in excellent condition.

not sure what it would sell for but there are not a lot of folks that want a plow and cultivator for a garden tractor and least that is true up here.

Where I'm at you'd sell the plow and cultivator before you'd sell the tractor.
