Price Check Looking for a used 48 backhoe for my JD 4600 tractor

I live in far eastern lower Maine want to know what a reasonable price is for a used Model 48 backhoe. One I am looking at is not offered with the connection plates included, but it appears to be in very good condition. What would I expect to pay for it?

I have one that will be available in Late November. I've ordered a new tractor with BH but won't be in until then. Mine has a hydraulic thumb and the sub frame will go with. I'm asking $4,000. OBO. It has about 2000 hrs. on it but only needs shims. I have an extra bucket also.

I shopped tractors in Maine for a long while, and have read the Farm & Garden section in Uncle Henry's for years. Based on my shopping, I believe that is a very fair price.:thumbsup: Even with the shims and/or whatever other repairs may be needed, you should have a very functional backhoe, that fits your tractor properly for far less than the cost of new. That's not counting the hydraulic thumb, which is a big plus (and expensive to replicate). Bostow, if I were you, I'd make the deal with dsgsr before he changes his mind!

By the way, I am very happy with my JD 4600 and my 48 backhoe!
