I just got back to my place after spending a week in the hospital having a quad- bypass. While it has increased the time I will have to peruse TBN, I wouldn't recommend it as a way to get days off. Recovery is kind of 1-2-3. One month for the skin, 2 months for the chest-bone, and 3rd month, hopefully back scaring the trees with my chainsaw

Anyway, the weirdest part is my most painful part is my rear-end, so I guess I have a good incentive to get in my walking exercise!

Wishing you a speedy recovery. My Mom had bypass surgery back in '86, a couple of stents and clean-outs since, plus good pills. No reason you can't be attacking the trees in a couple months.

Your sense of humor is intact if you are looking for train tattoo for your "tracks.".

doug good luck with your recovery!
never thought of "train tattoo" to go with your scar,
interesting concept!
that would give me 4 separate tracks on my hips for tattoos,
2 from surgeries when i was a young teen, (8-10" ea) and
2 more now from my hip replacements a year ago (12-14" ea).
could be quite a bit of ink!
get out walking and i hope you the best in your recovery!

Doug! Get well. My dad went thru two quads. But no tattoos. I am still trying to tie the title of your post to your body?

I had a quad bypass back in '04. It does, indeed, take a few months to recover. I had scars from crotch to ankle on both legs and, of course, the chest scar. The chest scar is still there, faded but visible, while the leg scars have almost faded away. I don't mind the chest scar. It reminds me every time I look in the mirror that if I want to continue living I must be a good boy watch my diet.

I'm wishing you a speedy and painless recovery.

Thanks folks, the good news as far as the legs is they make a little incision on top of your leg and a small puncture on the bottom to get the vein. My ankle is a little swollen, but no scar there.

Sounds like a much improved technique than the traditional gash method!
