looking for a tractor

Just bought 35 acres and I need a tractor. It is wooded and needs clearing but I will hire a bull dozer for that work. Also, I am a new to the tractor world and could sure use some impartial insights.

What are your plans for the land after clearing done...mowing some tilling or digging.
The B2910,L3010,L3410,L3710 maybe the L4310 are all fine Kubota tractors in which will fit your needs.
Do you have a favorite tractor company also a dealer,and does distance to a dealer an issue.

Muhammad just release a book on this site,and its well worth the $$$ and your time to read,for it shall answer many of your questions.

Visit handful of dealers ask as many questions as you can think of,plus demo test each model and let the tractor fit you and you not the tractor.

BillB, there's lots of folks on the forum who'll help you more when you get more specific. I see your message is in the Deere forum. Does that mean Deere's the brand you're going with? Deere, New Holland, and Kubota (and some others) are all good machines to consider. And I agree with Thomas; Muhammad's book is a good place to start.

With property that big you realy need to think about how much time you have and what you want to do your self. Monitor all the channels in this web sit they will help you. If you do not have a lot of free time figure on using a large bulldozer every now and then and you will save a lot of money. I have a JD510 back hoe, yanmar 4 wheel driive tractor, and a power trac pt425. All great machines but use the power trac the most. www.power-trac.com

Bill -- Post more specific needs and you'll get responses from owners of various tractors. I own a Kubota L3010, but would have gotten a JD 4300 if they could have come closer in price. Was also impressed by the Boomers. Most of us read all the groups, so post anywhere and you'll get an earful. But you've got to help narrow things down a bit by telling the forum what you would like this tractor to do for you...
