Looking for a tractor 40-60 HP.

The only reason to buy a new tractor is personal preference. i bought a 2003 Massey Ferguson 451 2WD (52 HP) W/ FEL and forks for $14,000 last year, it had 513 hrs on the clock. The 4WD model is about $2k more. It is made in Brazil, and everything is made very heavy-duty.
I'm quite satisfied with the tractors performance and reliability.

That's kinda what I did, not only to save money, but to stay away from computers and emissions ...

I got an 2005 Kubota 4X4 with cab (no loader) for $16K

Give Massey Ferguson a look.
We’ve had 2 or 3 other threads recently where a tractor shopper was leaning Kubota, but went with Massey instead. They found the MF to be much heavier duty and heavier in weight, too. Weight is power and stability that makes your tractor more useful & versatile.

The MX is not a compact tractor. It is a light duty utility tractor that can run Cat. 2 implements. No it’s not in the M series class, but neither is it in the L, LX, or B series compact class.
could well be true. difficult to say as one jumps from one category to another in Kubota models... then there's the Grand L series too boot

My point is that one should carefully study the models before jumping into the next model. this forum s filled with "wish i had gone..."

believe me, i made mistakes myself before my final trade in to my current model tractor that meets my needs perfectly, best regards

Very true. I know Kubota lists the MX as a utility tractor, but of course it’s not as heavy or capable as the larger M models.

it's amazing just how many models/options mostly non commercial users as ourselves have on the market today. compared to the old days when i had the ol' Massey TO35

learned the hard & expensive way, it pays to do the the homework to make the right choice. & try not go get into the purchase fever along the way, best regards

LS makes CUTs for NH and Case. They do not make the utility tractors, such as the Workmaster 50-60-70 series and Workmaster 55-65-75 series. While LS makes the tractor, it is sold and serviced by NH or Case. NH and Case dealers are usually pretty stable and well stocked with parts. Parts for the most part are the same, just a slightly different part number. NH does use their own loaders.

My Kubota dealer told me the MX has a heavier differential, axles etc. than the grand. In any case I'm real happy with the MX5200 as an all around utility tractor for dirt moving, mowing, and road maintenance.
