Buying Advice Looking for a toothbar for a B3200 60" bucket

Instead of "More Cowbell"--and apologies to the Member here, with that VERY FUNNY, an IRONIC monikoer (i.e., "More Cowbell" ), I'd ask (as a cat lover, OF COURSE) for More *****-cat!

But seriously, (and my apologies, if you already know this) t's my understanding that W.R. Long offers a FLAT toothbar, which allows backdragging without any unsightly grooves from the teeth.

MORE COWBELL!

I picked up the toothbar from the dealer on Saturday - and what they supplied was an ATI. It's the toothbar with the non-replaceable teeth, which wasn't really what I was looking for. I know from prior experience on the BX23 that I would prefer the replaceable teeth as they do get worn over time.

Since I waited for so long for the toothbar to arrive it got me to thinking about a better solution to the problem. And what I'm thinking is that I might just end up getting a 54" in bucket (smaller to use just for digging purposes) - and actually weld teeth to it. There are a number of teeth available out there for building up toothbars. Weld some AR400 strips to the bottom of the bucket - and having a "toothbar bucket" instead of a toothbar. I have the Kubota QA setup on my FEL - so swapping out a bucket with teeth will go faster than swapping a toothbar on and off of the same bucket. When I get a chance I need to call the dealer and see what they get for a 54" bucket.

Anybody interested in a brand new ATI toothbar for a 60" bucket?

That's what I wanted the dealer to get for me - for some reason they claimed that they can't get the replaceable tooth version in 60".

This whole transaction has not gone the smoothest, so I'm trying to avoid dealing with them any further if I can avoid it.

Hey Jim,

Sorry to hear about the bum deal on the toothbar. I would probably just build what you want. I used Fabco 2A teeth for the last one I built. I have one tooth left and it looks like it fits pretty nice on my new Kubota bucket. Someone is selling them on eBay, but wants about double they are worth. I bought mine locally along with a cutting edge. Here is a link from the Fabco website and a link to there page. The TB-8000 2A is the teeth I have/ had. I know you have probably already looked at these. Let me know if you want a picture on my bucket. I do not know when I will get around to building one. Good luck in whatever you decide.

Check out Ratchet Rake, LLC - Rip and Dig, Tractor attachment, Bucket attachment, Loader, Skid loader, Kubota, Skid steer, Landscape rake, Brush remover, York Rake, Harley Rake, Rock Rake, Tractor rake attachment, Construction attachment, New Holland, Bobcat, . I use one on my Kubota 2500 and it works like a charm. On or off in about a minute and has never loosened during use. I clear brush, small trees and grass, level driveway, prepare garden plots. The thing works exactly like the site video shows. Best of all, it's very well made and costs less than any others I looked at.DSCF1185.JPGDSCF1185.JPG

I like the Ratchet Rake - in fact I'm going to get one as soon as I can find my way up to the nearest TSC. The Ratchet Rake isn't much good for digging though - and that's what I wanted the toothbar for. I know the toothbar I had on my BX23's bucket helped quite a bit.

Thanks for the info - I will have to check out Fabco. I have seen the teeth for sale on Ebay - and you're right: they seem to sell them for a lot more than other places I have seen teeth advertised. Nice pic - that toothbar came out very nice. After thinking about this a little though - I've decided to find a 54" bucket for the LA504 on my tractor - and basically make the bucket into a "tooth bucket". The narrower width (from the 60" I have now) - will help with digging - and for about double the cost of a toothbar - I will have a separate bucket I can use just for digging. I've looked around and foiund some places selling AR400 - so I figure what I'll do is find some teeth that fit nicely on the bucket edge - and weld those on - and then also weld on some AR400 drag strips on teh bottom of the bucket and maybe one across the back edge.

Taking attachments on and off the FEL now that it has the Kubota QA setup on it - is great. I've been swapping back and forth between the bucket and pallet fork attachment for the last couple of weeks while I move rocks - and the QA feature makes life a lot easier. Swapping an entire bucket off using the QA - will be much easier than trying to bolt and unbolt a toothbar from the bucket.

Hey Jim,

I like your idea. That should be a real nice way to go. Make sure you post pictures of what you come up with. Have fun.
