Looking for a tool or idea

My approx. 2 acre side lawn has many many black walnut trees. I have "millions" of nuts on the ground. Lawn sweeper does not work. I have looked up nut sweepers/ collecters, but they all are commercial units or small basket type things that would be like bailing the ocean with a teaspoon. Does anyone have a tool like this or created one out of handy materials?
I was thinking of modifying a lawn sweeper,replacing the brushes with cut down leaf rake tines. I do not want to "reinvent the wheel" if there is a reasonably priced tool on the market. $250.00 or less

Maybe you could make something resembling a huge dust pan and rake them onto it by hand.
