Looking for a plasma cutter

I'm looking for a reliable plasma cutter that I can do some repairs with on my car. Does anyone have any suggestions?

There are a lot of the plasma cutters made by Lincoln, Miller and the ones re-assembled in America, and those made overseas, etc.

I would read all you can and watch videos and talk to many people .

Next determine what you will do with the machine and try and make an informed decision about which one will suit your purpose.

If all you need it for is to repair your car, see if you can rent a small one for a week or so.

Hypertherm (manufactured in NH USA) is the largest manufacturer of plasma cutting systems. Often you can find some good deals on used Hypertherm's on Craigslist. There re many different models and sizes.....and you don't say what material, thickness or how much you need to cut. Good used Hypertherm Powermax plasma's to look for are:

Powermax380 (120 or 230 volt, production cut 1/4", sever 3/8")
Powermax30 (120 or 230 volt, production cut 1/4", sever 1/2")
Powermax600 (230 volt, production cut 3/8", sever 3/4")
Powermax45 (230 volt, production cut 1/2", sever 1")

There are many more older models as well.
