- kioti ck3510 Cub Cadet 149, 2146, Toro Zero Turn
I have been cutting grass since I was 8..nearly 50 years now. Currently mowing 2 acres residential with a toro timesaver zero turn. I love it.
However, my girlfriend has a 25 acre horse farm and she's got 3 to 3.5 acres to mow there..some of it sloping and the zero turn doesn't do too well there for that.
She had a huskee (MTD made for TSC) that was some 12-14 years old and we sold it as it was needing constant repair - just wore the sucker out. And parts (spindles, etc) were pricey.
Used a gear driven kubota for a few months earlier this year, then sold it when I got the new kioti (ck3510).
A 'big' tractor doesnt' work well - hard to fit and maneuver.
SO....need a new mowing device for next year. Unless i hit the lottery a new one really isn't in the cards (just got the kioti..only so much money to go around).
Would like it to last...so MTD/Craftsman are out. I had a snapper before my toro...not bad, but after a dozen years it too was showing it's age.
Thinking a smaller deere or kubota or such, in diesel (lot more fuel effecient) perhaps...saw a kubota at an auction last year, went for 1200...
Or what other suggestions, or what should I look for or avoid?
As a kid we had mostly cub cadets, had one amf (crap), a david bradly 3 wheeled thing - all way less HP than today's tractors but they cut grass.
