We have 15 acres in Georgia and need something that will, mow, move lots of dirt, trees, dig holes, scrape a long dirt road, prep a garden and not break down all the time. Probably mid to compact size, around 35 HP. Think we like what we see of the Kubotas. Hope to learn more and eventually purchase one early Spring 2011. If anyone has gone through this and has any tips, we are here to learn!

Where in GA ?

I have visited many of the N.E. GA dealers...

Well, sounds like you are looking for an L3700SU HST! Course, I could be just a bit biased.

Standard pkg comes with 37 horses, the quick connect front end loader, has a back hoe option that is fairly powerful from what I am told (didn't spring for that when I bought mine). I pull a 60" shredder and it had put my thickets back in order without hardly a thought. The only thing I would warn you on is to watch how big a bite you take or you could break a flasher or tear off a cutter gearbox cowling pushing into the brush cause it will cut like butter, but only what is UNDER the deck  Don't ask me how I know.

The HST gives such fine control over speed and direction that even I can safely navigate in close quarters without doing damage and makes FEL work a snap.

So far my only problem has been my inexperience. :ashamed:

Checked out the L3700SU online at the Kubota site. I did not see any kind of mower attachment to go with it. Is there one?

The L3700SU does not have a mid-mount mower like some of the smaller tractors do, so there is not a Kubota branded mower available. The Kubota web site touts Landpride implements, but I don't know if they have any relationship other than a marketing one.

I have a 60" (5 foot) rotary mower by AG-Meier, the Mohawk. It is a standard 3 point attachment mower. There are lots of various brands of mower. This one is local to central Texas and is distributed out of Belton, Tx. King Cutter, Brush Hog, Woods and Rhino are some nationally known brands with strong followings as well. Your dealer will likey have a brand that he is familiar with and has a dealership agreement. You can always ask around to see what is being sold you your area and what brand has the most support and parts availability locally.

Some folks will have strong brand loyalty, I am sure, but I think there are lots of unknown brands out there that are just as good as the big boys are, just more regional in there popularity.

Just bought the L3700 also - for the money I believe it is the best value out there. Used for a bit tonight and was really impressed with the power and smoothness of the machine.
Good luck

so what do you do for mowing?

That depends on what needs mowing. For the pasture and woods I have a 5' rotary cutter (brush hog). For the area that has stuff I shouldn't run over or need to manuever around and the wife would prefer to resemble a lawn I have a 48" Scotts riding mower and a 22" push mower.

I don't have large areas of "lawn" so I don't have a tractor operated finish mower.
