My house has a home made insert with electric fan...
It was built for my grandparents 40 years ago...
Heavy and brick lined...
If the house was laid out different it would heat the whole 1500 sq ft...
As it is, it will run you out of the den...
Very efficient and worth the investment...

I have been looking at Blaze Kings and they make a Princess Insert that looks amazing. If you have the clearances, this is a nice choice. I spend a lot of time on Hearth.com and they rave about Blaze Kings in general.
