Rotary Cutter Looking at buying an old Bush Hog

I went and looked at a 5 ft. bush hog for sale the other day, it is a Bush Hog brand. It had alot of rust on the deck with alot of rust through spots on top. The gear box turned smooth and he said it still cut very good he just needed a bigger one (10ft). I can get the metal from the scrap bin at work to fix the rust spots so that I can fix. He wants $250.00 for it, sounds fair to me but what do you guys think, anything else I should look out for?

This is a post I had made. See if the things I posted about you have checked into. I got this one for pretty much $50. I have seen BHs in good shape on CL for $300 - 400.

The 5' cutter my dad rebuilt has a couple 1/4" rust holes in the top of the deck. Lets the rain water drain so it won't rust as fast. A new 5' King Kutter costs $750.

He wants $250.00 for it, sounds fair to me but what do you guys think

I haven't done any shopping or pricing lately, but I agree that it sounds like a fair deal.
