I would personally lean toward either the Kioti DK 55 or 65 or the Mahindra 5500 or 6500 (I think those are the numbers - if not, I know they have some 4wd tractors in the 60 hp range.).
As posted previously, you can't go wrong with JD, NH or Kubota - and they may be cheaper than Kioti or Mahindra - pricing is best described as regional.
You could provide more information if you wish, such as local dealers, and that might help narrow the field. However if you know what size tractor you need, additional information is really just fluff - but a lot of folks on this board don't want to recommend a tractor without dissecting your situation. Good luck with your search.

Well, more information would be useful in order to provide a "real" suggestion, rather than a "pick my brand" suggestion. One quick example; if he plans on only needing the relatively larger tractor for a couple of years to do major work, then he only needs smaller tractor to maintain. He may want to buy a larger tractor to do the big work and then trade down in a few years. In this example you would be doing him a disservice to advise to go out and buy a new Kioti. He would get hammered on resale or trade. Perhaps a good used tractor would be more in order then. Or, perhaps he wants to get the absolute most HP and weight for the money and isn't opposed to doing some wrenching. Then a crate Jinma may be his best option. It's very difficult to top that value for weight, power, and working ability. In a "for the money" option, that may be the best route.

Without knowing more specifics, and without simply plugging a brand I own, I'd have to be conservative like Gatorboy and recommend a big three where he really can't go wrong. Knowing more does make a difference in what to suggest.

Resale/trade in value on the Kioti would be horrible to say the least. Also, Kioti dealer longevity is questionable. Out of the closest 3 dealers to me only 1 is left. On the other hand, Kioti makes a great tractor. I have operated a CK20 and CK30 at a dealer and they look to be very well put together. Just little name recognition (but slowly growing) and poor dealer network. Pricing can vary greatly from dealer to dealer (true of a lot of tractor brands).
I view it simply a case of the man said he needed a 60 hp loader tractor, not second-guesses on the size of the tractor that he needs. I gave him my opinion on what I feel are good 60 hp loader tractors. I have no reason to be conservative about my opinions. He wants to know what a good 60hp tractor is and I told him (my opinions).
Also, I didn't say buy a new tractor; heck, buy a used Kioti or Mahindra - then he can reap the benefits of their horrible resale value. I've asked this before, repeatedly, and never gotten the answer: where are these ridiculously low-priced Kiotis/Mahindras/Centurys/Brandsons/Farmtracs that people are selling (i.e. they bought them new and now need to unload them because they didn't give the tractorbynet overlords all of their information so they didn't get the right tractor to start with)? I hear and read people comment about their bad re-sale, but if we turn that around that means that an almost new tractor can be had for bottom dollar - then if it needs to be re-sold a second time, the major hit was taken by the original buyer, not the guy who got the great deal by buying it used. So by that token, just post where these practically new tractors can be had (because it can be anywhere in the world - the resale value is soooooo bad that a couple thousand dollars in shipping is still well below the cost of a new one - at least that's what I understand non-Big 3 tractor resale value to be).
Maybe some of you guys take helping people picking out a tractor too seriously; I love the advice doled out on this board, but everybody needs to remember that free advice is worth every penny you pay for it.

There's this neat new place on the internet, it's called eBay. You may want to try there. Nearly all of your listed tractors there go unsold. I'm sure you can make them offers after the auction ends. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Stock up.

Why take offense when someones opinion does not match yours? Why take "shots" at people again because your opinion does not match with them? Somebody asked for advice on a good tractor. He got advice on buying JD, Kubota, NH, Kioti, Mahindra. His location and dealer network will make a big difference. Learn to respect other peoples opinions as well as yours on this board. Would make it much more enjoyable to participate.
