I am looking at a TA270 that is for sale. It seemed to run ok, but the front seals under the spindles (4x4) seemed to leak a little bit. Also the gauges did not work. Engaging the 4x4 and turning sharp right (with right brake) and front wheels kept turning but not when I turned left. Hydraulics and leveler seemed to work ok. Anything sound alarming? What is a good price (appears clean, fresh paint and has 1200 hrs)? Thanks. -jr.

I recently sold a TA270 with no leaks, 780hrs, new seat, original paint in good shape, EVERYTHING worked, no noises, ran perfectly. It sold for $6000 her in Southern Illinois.
The TA Isekis are known for their tachs not working. The gear gets stuck after setting a long time and strips off the shaft in the tach. It is a simple fix with some epoxy on the shaft and gear. It is a very close match to a Massey 1145. I have ordered several parts including keys from Massey for the TAs.
I have sold over 100 tractors and I have my pick. I keep a TA here at the house for my use.

I have a TU1700f that the tach does not work now after setting up a few months this winter.

What do I need to do to get it to work ????

The TU models had some cable troubles. If you pull it loose at the injection pump you can pull the cable out and check it. I also had a TU that the gears in the tach worked but the gears to the hour meter quit. I put an electric meter on it. The TAs have a shaft in the tach that freezes up and strips the gear in the angle drive. You can usually epoxy the gear back on the shaft and it will work, if you loosen up the frozen gear in the tach. I just repaired a TA207 yesterday.

My TA210 also had a tach cable problem. Turned out the crimp on the injector pump side of the cable was not tight. This allowed the fitting on the end to spin. Just re-crimped and it works great.

The tach cable is in a sleeve just like a speedometer cable. It attaches to the rear of the injection pump instead of the transmission. If you follow the fuel line it will lead you to the injection pump just past the filter.

No . Sometimes it is a little hard to get it all lined up when putting it back together. It is pretty simple to get apart. There shouldn't be any surprises. If you have anymore questions feel free to private message me and I'll send you my Mail address.
