There are plenty of ****-retentive tractor owners out there who will make wonderful "first/prior owners" of the right tractor you end up buying.

Oh! And oh! Yeah, that's sure what it looks like! I mean, it looks nearly new - but it's 8 y/o with ~1400 hours. But, dang, did they ever take care of it! And some day soon it will be all mine... Maybe! Arg!

Sorry, um, yeah. I know, it sounds like other posts I've had. Well, I can't help it. I don't have the tractor yet! It's snowing! What am I to do??

Get on the phone to all local and not so local dealers. Have them all bring their best toys to your place so you can try them out on your driveway. Have much fun!

Here's an update on the blue tractor hunt!
I've got a buddy of mine that is knowledgeable about tractors out looking for me. He's found a TC33 (unsure of year) with 400 hours on it for $8400. It does not have a FEL but it is hydrostatic. The biggest drawback is it has turf tires, which are not quite aggressive enough for what I need. It is however, immaculate. According to his description anyway! I wont be able to look at it till this weekend. A local dealer will sell me a Bushhog brand FEL for 2500.
This time I am going to take a camera with me so I can post some pics.

Is that a mounted and plumbed price for the loader? That can make a big difference.

Supposedly, $50 bucks puts it on. This price is coming from my buddy, who knows somebody, who works at a dealer, who will install it for that price.

Sounds good, that TC-34.

I was going to comment when you mentioned the TC-30 that it is a good tractor, but for 14 acre property maintenance, I would opt for a little fancier tractor (every other NH model that I know of). The problam I have with the TC-30 is (when I bought it) was not offered with a quick change bucket. To me working land really screams for the ability to switch from bucket to forks. I love my forks and they are on probably at least 50% of operation time. So when you look at adding a loader, I would strongly recommend a Quick attach system.

One other thing, I would suggest adding a remote (at least A remote, if not more). But one remote so you can run a Hydraulic top link. For doing driveway work and such that is a must in my book.

Good luck

Ok, here are some pics of the TC33 in question

and the one thing visibly wrong with the tractor...

He's asking 8900 for the tractor, which has 449 hours showing. What would be a reasonable offer, and anything in particular to look for?

Also, is there a way of editing my title to this tread? "Looking at cheap TC29.." is no longer an accurate thead description:D

Before you give up on turf tires; try them in your situations; when in 4 wd you will get thru most times. The front rim looks bent pretty good, but it holds air. Ask dealer what a new rim costs or is there another class ii boomer on the lot with turfs? Ask to swap it out. I would offer $10,000 with FEL installed and all oils and filters changed.

Well, I should have been more specific about what kind of dealer this guy is...
He's a part-time used tractor seller. He's got a half-dozen tractors & some equiptment, no FELs. As far a fluids go, the engine oil is dark, but full, and the other fluids look new and also full.

I just hoped he had another unit that could have been swapped out. As for fluids; anytime I buy anything used, I will always change all fluids and filters so I KNOW when they were changed . If I purchase from a dealer; I try to get them to throw it in to complete the deal.

Does look like a nice unit, but pictures can not tell the whole story; I assume you test drove it, started up fine, everything works, etc.
