Backhoe LOOK at the Backhoe Reach!

This plumb amazes me - the reach of the backhoe on this old Kubota tractor is easily five feet more than my BH75.

The seller says that the hoe is made for his tractor, a B8200.

Basically, I don't believe it. Either the seller has made an error or it is a misprint. It isn't THAT big of a tractor and the pictures only show the hoe to be about in proportion to the tractor.

Why not? Clearly the dipperstick and boom go from the subframe to well above the ROPS. I've seen "long reach" excavators for mucking out ponds from the bank and for installing sanitary sewer that I've designed 30 feet in the ground, so this isn't that strange of a monster.

What I'm blown away by is that someone ACTUALLY BUILT a long-reach BH assembly for a Kubota tractor. Doesn't seem like there'd be much of a market for that type of thing.

This is a very, very rare bird, indeed. You're going to sacrafice a bit in overall capacity. Breakout force of the bucket itself would be similar to a "normal" BH, but you loose mechanical advantage over the long dipperstick and boom. Lifting a bucket-full won't be a problem, but you won't get much "help" when trying to yank something out of the ground...it'll have to be all bucket.

Pretty darn cool, if you ask me.

I'd agree with you, Keith, about the loss of brute strength, but boy, would that be an aid to trenching!

They may have used bigger boom and stick cyls to get good force. That would sacrifice speed tho, unless PTO driven from an aux pump.
Reach is wonderful. I wish the 11' on my Mahindra 7520 was more. Biggest option on the package tho.

The more I look at that setup the better I like it. I don't know anything about the model but if I hadn't just bought a B7800 and knew what I know now this old Kubota would be of a serious interest to me. Buy that, buy a more powerful Kubota engine, paint up the hoe and have what I'd think of as the ideal B series sized tractor - especially if the old models are heavier than the current run of featherweights.

Is your 11' hoe Mahindra made, or an aftermarket brand? And does it attach to a subframe?

I believe Bradco supplies the hoes for Mahindra. Mine is a #511 and mounts to a massive subframe. Sturdy setup. I believe the tractor would handle 14' easily. Not an option when I bought, or even yet. Darn.

This looks like the mfg of the hoe. The specs match for this one are similar.
