helping a friend buy a used zero turn mower. we are looking @ a 54" Everride Warrior w/27hp kohler. it is a very solid machine (have one myself bought new)
this machine has 800 hrs w/newly rebuilt engine. no leaks on hydro system. has 16 cc hydro gear pumps, think parker wheel motors. hydro seems responsive, hydro oil seems clean (not burnt)
Question: do hydro systems last indefinitely, or is 800 hrs approaching concern for possible system rebuild soon down the line? thx

Generally speaking I think they should last 1500-2000 hrs easily but like automatic transmissions some fail sooner than others.

If the oil is clean and clear 800 hours is not a lot, maybe find out if it was changed recently or ever?

Also if you do change the oil and filters there is a fair amount of bleeding to get the air out of the system - lack of oil or air pockets can kill a motor or pump fast.

thanks on this carl, and you are right, air is the enemy in hydro system & will proceed per shop manual of purging, etc. also will use mobil 15/50 syn as recommended. thx again
