Hi Everyone,

We are ready to show off the ForceCut 42i - this is an affordable, and yet very powerful 40amp plasma cutter capable of cutting 1" or 25mm - it can also work on both 110v and 220 with PFC (Power Factor Correction or Auto Voltage) allowing your machine to run at maximum performance no matter the power. It also enables this unit to be versatile with the ability of 110v power. I can honestly say it can stand up to pretty much anything out there and will most likely beat it! I am eager to see if there are any takers on here to put it up against a PowerMax 45 or Cutmaster 42.

In part 1 of Tim's video, he shows it operating on 220v and will be doing 110v cutting in part 2.

I also have attached the spec sheet for it for your reference.

We are taking pre-orders on this model, and our limited stock has already been sold. If you are interested, and because we want to get a buzz going on this model with some reviews, we are offering them to the first 5 forum members for $800 shipped instead of the $1000 sticker price. The unit will come with our standard 5 year warranty! This is the best plasma cutter LONGEVITY has ever carried and one that will be part of our line for years to come.

Looks great. The torch looks to be a big improvement. This is an IGBT machine, right? Just one thing you might want to keep in mind, I have found the ground clamp on my stickweld 250 to work fairly well, once you get it on. If I was going to be picking a ground clamp, I would choose one with a larger opening. I have found that even with 2 inch pipe, it can be a pain to get on. Maybe if you used something like the copy of he brass tweco clamps, I don't think it would add too much to the cost, but would make the machines look and function better. I think it would be the sort of thing that would really stand out to people shopping for a welder. Also, if you used black electrode holders, say those matt black Bernard shortstub copies, it would add to the first impression of quality quite a bit. Those are the only two real complaints I had about it, well one of the things you might want to think of for new models, is the switch. The circuit breaker on the back as a switch gave the impression of Chinese cost cutting. Don't get me wrong, it works flawlessly, and actually makes sense, but again the first impression would be better with say a big red switch, and a push button breaker. So really, my only suggestions are mainly cosmetic things, that would make the unit look better to potential buyers. Just thought this feedback might help you out a bit.

Mark from Everlast deleted his reply - so I am glad he decided to advertise in his thread vs ours! If he still wants to put our 40amp vs Everlast 40amp - we are game!

Correct, we use IGBT technology! As far as the suggestions, I completely agree that we can always make the machines better! We always listen to our customers as they are the ones using the models in the fields and implement the changes as much as we can! I am glad the StickWeld 250 is running like a champ! It is a big seller for us and does withstand a good a mount of welding!

Are you now operating as two different members LONGEVITYsimon (member) and as longevity (advertiser)?
Either way I agree the 250 is one very nice unit and mine has been working out very well so far.

Hi Furu,

Since our team of employees also use the LONGEVITY one, i decided to get a personal account so that you guys know you are talking with me vs someone in the office. I think it will be a bit cleaner down the line as i attempt to post on here more and see what all of you are up to!

Thanks for the positive comments on the StickWeld 250 - I would love to see some photos of your work or hear about how it has helped you.

Just downloaded the spec sheet....but could not find specs. Can we get the following info?

Capacity....cuts speeds on a variety of materials and thicknesses?
Maximum pierce capability?
Input current (amperage) at different input line voltage?
Duty cycle criteria....what ambient temperature and output killowatts (cutting amps and arc voltage) is the rating based on?
Duty cycle when running on 120 volts?

If you plan to compare this new unit with the major brands as mentioned...there needs to be specs to compare. Looks like a nice plasma for the price!

I'm Tim Robel the guy in the video, I don't have a spec sheet that I received with the unit. As some of you may know I have a fab shop and Im a end user of the Longevity product line. As a end user I make the videos for Longevity and do there real world testing. When I was told the the ForceCut 42i would sever 1" it was hard for me to believe! As we saw in the video it severed it just fine. For me in my fab shop I rarely cut over 1/4". I been putting the 42i through its paces for the last week. I've never have reached the duty cycle or over temp. I'm told its 40% duty at a 10 minute rate at 40C. As for the input current it has a PFC, power factor correction for 95v-280v. This unity will run off a generator or international. So far the ForceCut 42i is the best plasma Iv'e tested in the 40 amp class and it inaugurates without any other shielding with theTorchMate CNC table. Awesome little unit! I will be posting up more videos on real world testing on 110v next. Subscribe to the Longevity welding channel on youtube to get new videos every week. Time to get some work done! Talk to you all soon! Tim Robel

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the comments. It is a nice unit for the price. I am working on getting you more detailed specs. In the mean time, I see Tim has completed a video on 110v.
