I have been reading this board for several months, but haven't posted anything until today when I replied to a couple of threads. I find myself wanting to repeat things about my background, so I thought I would post and introduce myself, and that way, many of you will know me a little better when you read my posts.
I bought a NH TC 30 with FEL, box blade, tiller, and durablade in March of 2005. My intention is to use it to spread dirt, gravel, chat, etc. for contractors and homeowners, mostly during the summers when I am on vacation (I am a teacher, so I need something to do during the summers, especially since my youngest daughter is now in college, and I'm not spending my summer coaching her softball team). Hopefully in a few years, I'll be able to retire from the teaching profession, and be able to do tractor work to supplement my income. Right now, if I get enough work to make my tractor payments and pay expenses, I'm happy.
I live in Northeast Arkansas near Jonesboro. I was raised on a small cotton farm, and started driving tractors when I was very young. We had a WD Allis Chalmers that we did most of our work with, and I became very aquainted with it. My brother in law and nephews farm about 1500 acres here in NE Arkansas, and I have worked for them a lot over the years. I have a lot of seat time on just about any size tractor you care to discuss from 120 to 300 hp, and even on a combine or two, but that is farm work, and is much different than the "finish" work I am trying to do now. I have found a lot of information on here about that type of work, and I want you to know I appreciate it. I probably won't post a lot, perhaps an occassional question, or opinion. Believe me, I don't have any definitive answers about anything. I have found that what works well on one job, may not work on another. Keep posting those suggestions and ideas, and I'll keep reading and learning, and perhaps I may have a suggestion or two someday that will help someone else.
