Tractor
Farmtrac 300 DTC
good morning: i still haven't been able to pull the trigger on a tractor deal. It looks like a toss-up between Mahindra 3510, Century 2535, and a slightly used New Holland TC35D. A new one i saw yesterday is a Land Trac 300 DTC by Long. Does anyone have any feedback regarding this particular model. i know it is a bit smaller in engine hp, but, it is a 4 cylinder. Thank you for your help past and present. This is a very hard decision for me. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

those are all great machines. The New Holland is a much more "delux setup" It also has a hydrostatic tranny.

If I were buying, it would be hard to steer ME away from the New Holland. All are considered great tractors. So was my last one. But none of the other three can boast anything of the New holland (or any big three) in service network. Having been down the orphaned tractor toute, I am not intested in that game.

Of course you might have a great dealer for one of the others and be more comfortable than i.

I am assuming, also that the New Holland is in the running, price wise. I imagine it has a transferrable warranty, too.

There are great fans of all the machines you mentioned here at TBN, For good reason. You will have a winner no matter which you choose.

Just be sure its the New Holland /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I'd sure ditto everything Mike has said. For the service and parts issue alone I wouldn't buy the others you mentioned. For myself time is an issue. Perfect example is thursday my baler broke down. Rain was coming and I had to have the parts to fix my baler and a service guy to fix it. Deere had the part for me that day and the baler ready to go so I could finish baling before the rain. I know it doesn't matter with alot of people if their tractor is down for a couple days or even a couple weeks. For myself and others that count on our equipment for your business it does make a difference.

New Holland fans
New Holland makes some excellent tractors but so does Century. And as for the the tranny on the NH I beleive they made/make it both shuttle and hydro. In regard to service and parts support, I have been told that our (American Jawa) parts and service support to Century and Zetor dealers is better than NH. (And that came from a long time NH dealer.)
Good Luck with what ever you buy.

A friend of mine has a Landtrac 360, he likes the tractor very much, but has a loader on it and has had to have the front axle repaired twice. I don't know for sure which it was, tractors fault or operators fault.

I have a Landtrac 360 and I will swear by it. As long as you are comfortable with the dealer, go for the Long, you won't be disapointed.

I think they are all good machines, i can say parts availibilty and product support is great from Mahindra. Mahindra also has a very large and growing rapidly network of dealers across the U.S. I dont think Long or Century have the large dealer network/support, but they are good machines. Mahindra has also been around a long time and will be for the long haul.

we have a long dealer in town, it is the onlytractor that he stocks, granted most of his business is on repair of any tractor that the farmers have, but he does seem to be moving quite a few new ones. looked at them briefly when iwas looking, but they were new then and really did not look at them hard. but they do seem to be getiing good reviews.
